Legislative Correspondent - Washington, DC or Minnetonka, Minnesota

The Office of Congressman Dean Phillips (MN-03) seeks an enthusiastic, highly organized, creative, and self-motivated professional to serve as a Legislative Correspondent. Essential strengths of ideal candidates include excellent writing and communications skills, strong attention to detail, a passion for storytelling and engaging with Minnesotans, and the ability to manage a variety of assignments under tight deadlines. 

The Legislative Correspondent will manage a high-volume constituent communications program, which includes monitoring incoming constituent correspondence and responding thoughtfully in a timely manner; researching, drafting, and targeting proactive email and direct mail outreach; maintaining and analyzing the constituent database with complete and current information; managing intern correspondence work; and working with legislative and communications staff to innovate, identify opportunities, and support the execution of a variety of constituent-facing projects.  

Candidates should have a working knowledge of the responsibilities and functions of a Congressional office. Completion of a bachelor’s degree program is preferred. This position can be based in either the Washington, D.C. or Minnetonka, Minnesota (District) office.
