Common Ground

Whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, or anything in between, there is more that unites us than divides us. As Vice-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, pursuing common ground for the common good is among the most important work Dean does in Washington. In fact, nonpartisan groups give Dean high marks for working across the aisle. He knows Congress can't legislate decency, but neighbors can come together and create greater understanding in our communities – and that's where you come in

Common Ground Workshops


Rep. Phillips is inviting small groups of neighbors with different perspectives and life experiences to come together, break bread, and talk about the issues facing our community through facilitated conversation. The goal? Understanding one another a little better and respecting one another a little more, even – and especially – when we disagree. Here's how they work:


Our Common Ground Workshop is the first-of-its-kind, but a format Rep. Phillips hopes will be replicated in Congressional Districts across the country very soon. Only by listening to and learning from one another can we fix the most challenging problem our nation faces – our own political divisions. Are you interested in joining the conversation?
